New routes proposed for Belfast International

Economy Minister, Diane Dodds has today said there are 3 new proposed routes for Belfast to help us come out of Covid. New York, Boston and Doha in Qatar are the 3 proposed locations and she is in talks with Belfast Int for this to happen.

I'd expect the NY  and BOS service to be a A321neo aer lingus, Qatar for the doha, thats if the fanfare and red carpet treatment they got with the Chinese students was anything to go by...

I can`t see this happening until 2022 at the earliest, airlines have been under immense pressure because of Covid-19, and I can`t see any of the major players wanting to come in, when US routes from Dublin are well established. It might work as a seasonal project, but I suspect airlines will be playing safe and not looking at new routes for some time.
