Boeing and Airbus both get orders
« on: January 09, 2007, 12:53:22 PM »
AirAsia ordered 50 A320s from Airbus on Monday, bringing the Malaysian low-cost carrier's total firm order for the narrowbody jet to 150. The order is worth $3.3 billion at list prices, but aircraft-valuation firm Avitas estimates the baseline order value after standard discounts at $2.1 billion.

AirAsia is separately preparing to launch a long-haul affiliate and is in final negotiations with both Airbus and Boeing for 20 widebody aircraft, either A330-300s or 777-300ERs.
