Charleston squad may hold C-17 capability record

When 20 C-17 Globemasters took off from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C., on Dec. 20, they may have broken more than a record for the most Globemasters flying in formation.

They also won bragging rights to the fact that 100 percent of the Globemasters on duty at the base that day were mission capable; not a single one was down for maintenance or any other problems, said Capt. Christopher Moore, a base spokesman.
