Today had to have been the best spotting day at BHD so far this year. Not a cloud in the sky.
Amazed no one else turned up.

FYI: IKEA have closed off all the stairways leading to the top deck due to health and safety reasons - kids running amuck according to the IKEA Security Supervisior. This is probably why the four teenager who were mucking about on the top deck when I arrived were frog-marched off the site. Don't know about you guys but when you're walking around with over half-a-grands worth of camera equipment the last thing I want is to be alone with four teenagers who may decide to relieve you of it. Sad reflection of society I know.

Anyway upon explaining why I wanted to go up to the supervisor he said they have no objections to 'us' going up but would appreciate it if we let them know beforehand.

Hi Keegster

I was below you having called in from Aldergrove. As I left I saw a cameraman on the left edge, (if you faced the runway)  of the upper deck, I assume it was you?

On arrival the  top deck road access and stairs were roped off so I didn't venture up. Sadly I looked for security but didn't see anyone. The light was excellent and you have some great shots there. When I work out how to I'll add mine.

Just march in the front door and make a scene, that's what I did  ;D

Interesting regarding the staff opinions on whether us spotters can use the first floor or not. I tend to go to BHD the most when Ikea is closed.

Ikea opens at 10pm where as I am there usually between 7am and 11am, yet to experience any trouble beside the fence or on the top level of the car park, with two members of staff walking right past us on the top level during the last trip.

I'm torn between where to go tomorrow, either BHD where sun is guarenteed, or Dublin, where it'll likely be cloudy but with a chance of seeing the Aer Lingus AT-72.
