Emerald Airlines EGAC-EGAE
« on: October 20, 2022, 01:03:28 PM »
An ATR-72, reg G-CMJN, identifying with callsigns like EAG001T (on ADS-B) and "Greenstone 1 Tango" (voice with ATC) has been back and forth between EGAC and EGAE several (I think three) times a day for the last three days. This appears to be the UK arm of Emerald Airlines. Anyone know what these flights are about? They don't appear on the City of Derry live flight info web page (where other commercial flights do).

Most likely some sort of training flights, familiarisation for crew, practise diverts etc.

Hmm. I wouldn't have thought that they would assign separate flight numbers for that, but maybe, I suppose. 4 round trips today - flights EAG1T thru EAG8T.

Ahh, that makes sense. I suppose they're having to do this now due to the rule change that's also affecting Aer Lingus. Thanks!

Wouldn't the "T" suffix indicate training?  Although that's a broad term.

I was thinking "Test", but it was just a guess....
