Emergancy Divert - 12th May 2023

Looks like Austrian Airlines Boering 767 - OE-LAZ is diverting to Belast international. Was over Atlantic and turned back, now descending. Medical emergancy on board. It was heading to JFK New York.

It landed at BFS at 1856, runway 07.

Surprised they aren't making the trip onwards to JFK and are flying back to Austria. Crew gone out of hours I am guessing?

It does seem strange, I would have thought they could have sent another crew to finish the JFK flight, doubtless there will be folk at JFK waiting to return to Vienna as well.
I will have a look and see if I can find out where the 767 went to.

The OS87 flight that diverted to BFS has been cancelled, and the B767 may still be at BFS. The link below shows they intend to run a JFK to VIE later tonight, and normal VIE to JFK on Monday.
