TUI (Sunwing) fiasco in Greece
« on: July 22, 2023, 09:15:45 AM »
Is it me guys or is it that there seems to be reoccurring issues regarding Sunwing aircraft?? I do clearly remember them hitting the runway light at BFS on take off one year and therr seems to be other issues regarding Sunwing in the back off my head I think there might have been delays/cancellations before departure was there not one year also?, and now there's this issue with Greece. I haven't heard much griping from people on the cancelled Ibiza flights it just seems to be Greek flights that have been reported .

TUI operations at BFS using Sunwing have had problems every season. It seems to be operated on a shoestring, with Sunwing don`t have enough crew or aircraft.
It`s too much of a coincidence that problems are always with BFS flights, there was some issues with Sunwing from DUB as well if I recall correctly.

They are being phased out soon by parent company Westjet, but TUI should have got this sorted yonks ago. It`s a disgrace that they seem to allow this to happen every summer season. There is no back up plan if an aircraft goes tech, or other hitches.

The incident when the aircraft was wrongly configured for takeoff is something I won`t forget, as it passed our house at around 250ft, when it should have been at least 900ft-1000ft.
I honestly thought they were coming down.
