Greencastle Airfield Update
« on: July 30, 2011, 03:38:42 PM »
I have been rather busy lately and on Wednesday I had a good look around Greencastle Airfield at Kilkeel.

There are a number of new photographs on my website of the Airfield as well as American Soldiers names carved in Trees and sineage at Castlewellan.

Thanks very much for the vote of confidence AT.

I had hoped to be able to photograph the old Bomb Stores however they have all been demolished and replaced by all things by a ......Shooting Club! (Just what Northern Ireland needs ::)

hi ww2ni shooting clubs are popular and there are quite a few within in the country.these are heavily regulated by psni firearms and explosive branch and are mainly attended by proffesional shooters of olympic, bisley, and commonwealth gold medal
champions ex service personnel and other walks of life.
as an ex firearms instuctor for the royal air force we take shooting very seriously.
even with all the private firearms in the country there are still more illeagal ones.
we enjoy what we do and you should try it sometime.
please dont take these thoughts personally.
