Just finished watching this film, and for anyone who is an aviation enthusiast (Everyone on this site) well then, it's a movie for you!

In a day and age where almost all Hollywood movies try to thrill us with special effects and gore, FLIGHT 'soars' with extraordinary acting and a story that will change lives. I went not knowing really what to expect. A drama about a crashed airplane, right? Well this film is much much more. It is truth. Truth about life. Truth about addictions. Denzel Washington does an awesome, believable job as an alcoholic airplane captain, struggling with his addiction and accusations after the plane crash. John Goodman plays an interesting character and provides some laughs. Without giving too much away, I will say that if you like drama movies or Denzel, go see it. If you are, or know anyone who is struggling with an addiction of any kind... Go see it! It just might change your life.

Excellent film all around!

Jake :)

I started watching this then switched it off - I thought it was a pile of rubbish. Maybe it was just that I got bored watching junkies inject themselves, or possibly it was just the distraction of the overuse of foul language. Must have watched 40 mins then gave up - dragging everything into the gutter with a few aviation clips added didn't really appeal!

I haven`t seen this myself, but saw the trailer, and it put me off;Ringo`s comments do nothing to inspire me to watch it either.
I hate film`s with constant swearing-it is very grating on the ear,and other adjectives are available.
So many films now are full of cursing and foul language it distracts from the story, and in some cases ruins the film entirely.
Maybe it`s a generation thing;but I just hate bad language.

As for aviation related movies, almost all leave me cold,as they are almost always poorly researched and riddled with mistakes.
I also don`t like all the super fast CGI effects that many movies have in them now, they just look really exaggerated and souless, and they irritate me.

Maybe I`m just an old fuddy-duddy,but that`s my tuppence worth.

Entitled to an opinion. All I'm going to say is, if you don't watch the film to the end, you can't really hold a fair opinion on it as a 'whole'. You're giving your opinion on a certain part of the film (Ringo747) but as you didn't watch it to end, it's to some degree, not a complete review by saying you thought it was rubbish, but I do repect your opinion and can understand your reasons for not liking the film! I too am not fond of foul language, but it's hard to come across a film nowadays without it, regardless, I still hold my entire opinion on the film, I thought it was great, and do recommend seeing the film, it's the ending of the film that is really the finest point, it's very engaging, inspiring and true... Not everyone will like the film, others will love it, but that's for you to decide! :)

You switched it off? Are you sure you're talking about the right film? It's only just out in the cinema. as of 1st Feb. I'm quite looking forward to it myself, looks like a filmised version of Aircrash Investigation.

The cinema isn't the only way to watch things in this day and age! Hope your not disappointed but from what I saw of it it was nothing like aircrash investigation. It was more like life-crash investigation of drug addicts.

Well I went to see the film last night, I actually quite enjoyed it. The actual crash scene was a bit rubbish and unrealistic, but then again, that's to be expected. Quite a long film as well, around 2 hours 20 minutes. The films mostly about his alcoholism than the aviation, but still worth a watch to be honest.
