Training Flight

Here's an example of a 'training' flight taking place today.The blue part of the aircraft trail indicates it was ascending and the red colour indicates level flight.I have omitted other aircraft from the picture to avoid clutter

I'm I reading this right? An Qatar A332 performing a training pilot just South of us over mid Ireland?? (took me a while to realise it was upside down )

Where did the training flight originate? Shannon or Dublin? Presumably maintence related? That little black box of yours does wonders! Thanks for sharing this with us.

Not sure where it originated from (poss Dublin?)but i've seen a few training/test flights take place in that area over the past months.
(My laptop is in the corner of a room facing South,so i orientate the map to match)

Yea, with the maintence hangers at Dublin, they must be a good few maintence check flights operating in that area. I believe a few of Virgin's A340-600's get maintence at SR Technics at Dublin thus flying into there. Gulf Air also get maintence there and last year, I believe Gulf Air had a good few 767's grounded at Dublin. I believe some are still there.

I'm only just remembering this now however when I was at Dublin spotting at the end of 2008, when passing the maintence hangers, I think I might've seen the Star Alliance BMI A332 sitting outside the hangers along with one of the Gulf Air 767's.

I wonder if the A380 will ever find it's way into Dublin at some point.
