Wanted: VHF receiver

Hi guys,
Looking to buy a vhf receiver as my cheap and cheerful maycom ar-108 has given up the ghost.
Preferably 8.33khz capable.
Anybody got any unused handhelds lying around they would be willing to sell?

One of my Scottish friends has a  Uniden 3500XLT but it only works on batteries looking iro £90 for it
