STS-127 Launch
« on: July 15, 2009, 11:32:45 PM »
The Space Shuttle Endeavour finally took off this evening.  Activity was first noted a couple of hours prior to launch as the two C-130s took off to monitor the TAL sites on this side of the Atlantic.  SATCOM downlink was on 261.575 with Herky 251 and Herky 252 working Cape Osborne and Wolf Den.  The primary TAL site for this evenings launch was Moron with Zaragoza as backup.  At 2320 local time direct comms were noted from Endeavour as she worked Houston Control on 259.700 just to the south of Ireland.  There was no chance of seeing her from here as the area is covered in a blanket of cloud although a few sightings have come in from monitors in Dublin.
Accidents usually follow the simultaneous combination of running out of airspeed, altitude, and ideas
