Long-haul flights by type 2014-2016
« on: June 03, 2017, 07:32:25 PM »
One of the questions that arises in smudge-brain cutting the grass.

Number of unique flights by long-haul types logged from this station.  Note that these are only a fraction of total NAT movements, since my range is limited.

TOTAL 152384 195078 220073 82858

0. Chart v2: Added A310, A345, A346, B742, B743, B752, B753, B77L, MD11.

1. B763 is still the champion and is actually increasing despite the newer types coming online.

2. The only decreases in significant types were with the B744 and the A343.

3. The B772 keeps increasing, out of production but now up to third place and has surpassed the B744.

4. The A359 flights in 2014 were all Airbus callsigns.

5. Despite a later start the B789 is catching-up with the B788 and with orders biased to the new type it should surpass it in the next couple of years.

I am wondering if one type or another is 'missing' for 2014 that accounts for the low total, or if that is genuine.  Given the jump in the A33_ counts then it may well be correct.  May also reflect a tendency towards NAT tracks over my location.

Note that the second chart attached is LOGARITHMIC which distorts the proportions in order to better show the trends amongst the minor types.

Interesting-I note you haven`t any A340-600`s on your list-they seem to be fairly rare now-the only ones I see OTT are Lufthansa examples.
