Did Ards ever have an F4 Phantom display?

Thanks, I remember going to the Ards show nearly every year in the 80s and early 90s. Stopped going regularly around 1996 and my last one would have been 2000. I remember being there, but outside of the likes of the Tornado, Reds and Harrier and a few others I struggle to recall what else I saw.

Hmm now I'm wondering if those were indeed Ards.  They don't appear to correspond to any holes in the Ards negative sleeves.

Can anyone confirm if those types appeared together at a particular Ards show?  P-47 seems to be marked MX-X
Yes the P-47 did display at Ards, but I think it was a solo display, but can`t be certain.

the FW190.I took the photo so must have watched it display aswell ! ???

Wow I had nearly forgotten about that one, thanks for the photo.

Across the way in front of the Lynx I think those are the tails of the IAC Magisters, the Swifts display team.

That Cherokee is driving me nuts, I recognise it but can't remember the reg.

Would the Cherokee be G-BAJR perhaps ?

Definitely not G-JR. The PA28 in the picture would have been doing pleasure rides. For that it would need a Public Transport C of A. JR did not get that until it was sold to Spectrum Aviation at Aldergrove.

A likely candidate would be either . G-BAKH / G-BGKS/ G-BFBF/ G-BRME or G-SEJW. They were all used for Air Show pleasure flying at one time or another.

Cheeers guys! Great info.

Since it's marked as a Cherokee Cruiser it had the 'wee' engine and a -140 designation, so probably BAKH, BFBF or BELR:

BAKH PA-28-140
BELR PA-28-140
BFBF PA-28-140
BKGS PA-28-161
BRME PA-28-181
SEJW PA-28-161

Been trying to get listings of old Ards shows for and managed to track down the programme for 2005, with 2008 & 1998 on the way.

As I get more, I will be updating the AirshowsNI Airshow History section

This is what was on display in 2005 at Ards.

I've been working recently to get an archive of Ards lineups. I think its worth preserving the lineups for historical reasons and have been doing so for the last few years on other shows.

I have a lot more Ards line-ups on the AirshowsNI website :) Thanks to many of the old threads here, photos and google searches as well as someone on ebay who was selling Ards programmes lol.

A few more scans of Crap Smudge Negs of old Ards airshows.  Hopefully as the old running orders are dug-up I'll be able to put dates to them, as their original sleeves and prints have long since been lost.
