BHD - 21-02-10
« on: February 21, 2010, 05:09:46 PM »
When I got up this morning and saw the snow I thought 'great, get down to the city and get some wintry photos'. Alas there was hardly any snow on the ground at the airport but plenty on the surrounding hills. Stayed for about an hour. When I was driving into IKEA I noticed a couple of guys coming down of the top deck carrying a professional TV camera and tripod. Wonder what that was about?

Anyway here's what I got, which aren't a patch, weatherwise, on Dave's photo's from yesterday. Weather is everything. The cloud base today was only 700ft.

The BMI (Golf Charlie Golf) in the 4th pic had moved across from the terminal to carry out some kind of engine test based on what I could hear over the radio.

Gorgeous shots, but number 1 is fanastic - what shutter speed did you use to get the vortices?

1/1600s

To be honest I was playing about with the settings at the time and didn't realise how the shot had turned out until I got home and loaded it on the laptop.

Ahh nice set of shots Dec, the BMI engine test is interesting. I have only seen a commercial aircraft over there twice, once for the Shorts Bombardier Centenary celebrations, and once when BA stored an ATP there when the foot and mouth crisis occured back near the millenium.
