Nimrod MRA4`s in storage
« on: April 07, 2010, 01:48:11 PM »
After the Nimrod MR2`s being retired recently I noted that the MRA4 varient would not be in service until late 2012.

I wonder what the delay is? Some of the aircraft have been flying since 2005/2006.
Several converted MRA4`s have completed their flight testing and are now in storage at Woodford.

The RAF need to get the replacemant for the MR2`s ASAP and it makes no sense to me why aircraft are being put into storage.

I think the MOD want to scrap the aircraft on the QT.

More than £16 million pounds was spent on fixing the Nimrod MR2`s,after the tragic loss of one aircraft, and within months they were retired from service-is it just me or does that seem strange and a terrible waste of public money?
