A United States military helicopter has gone down near Baghdad, in the fifth such incident in Iraq so far this year, US military officials have said.
It is not known how many people were on board the CH-46 Sea Knight aircraft, which can carry up to 25 people.

This is going from bad to worse.  Too many choppers gettings lost. :(

An Iraqi official said it was shot down by a MANPAD.

It would seem there were 7 fatalities. This is bad. Turns out there have been over 50 helicopter looses since May 2003

US military are now saying that the Sea Knight was shot down.

One aspect of this news report that I find disturbing is
