A plane has crashed on the Isles of Scilly while landing at the airport on St Mary's.

Cornwall Fire Brigade said the light Piper aircraft, with four people on board, was coming in to land when it crashed at about midday.

Police have described it as a "ground collision" near the runway.

One person was flown by air ambulance to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. The other three casualties were taken to the hospital in St Mary's.
