Weather alert
« on: April 03, 2011, 12:16:51 PM »
Just spotted this on the latest weather forecast....

Quote
Temperatures will fall back a couple of degrees on Thursday but they   will steadily rise again over next weekend,  reaching 18 or 19 degrees   by next Sunday.

Hopefully it stays like that and it might be a good time to get out and snap some pics..... 8)

If the weather forcast remains positive for Friday then I'll be down for the day in an attempt to catch the retro. Unfortunately Friday's my only day off this week  :(

Well the weathers still looking good for tomorrow, especially with wind heading towards the west meaning RWY 10 in use  8)

The downside is that EI-DVM (retrojet) hasn't been flying all week apparently so the chances are it won't be flying tomorrow either.  >:(

Well myself and a friend caught an early bus down to Dublin this morning at 5am, and after arriving at 7, a quick hot breakfast from the Spar and a sneaky bus ride in the Blue carpark park-and-ride bus and we were spotting on the Southside of the airport by 7.15am. Conditions were a tad backlit but some morning haze allowed some nice shilouette shots to be taken. Certainly worth the early start!

I forgot just how badly heat haze effects photography at Dublin, by 10am, it was just too much for my liking!

We caught the 5.20pm bus home, only for the Newry bomb scare to close the motorway, turning the busride into a 4 hours trip in traffic.  >:(

Just had a quick glance and edited a few photos, I think things turned out ok for the early photos. I've always wanted to get shilouette shots at Dublin, I just always assumed it wouldn't be possible until mid summer.  :)

Thanks guys. I've just learnt from A.net that the Retrojet (EI-DVM) suffered an engine problem in Lisbon last Sunday and is due to be ferried back to Dublin tonight. If the good weather continues, I'd be tempted one more time to go down and catch it.  ;D

:)  Thanks guys. Indeed that appears to be the good weather away for now at least anyway. Hopefully it returns next week  8)  Already looking forward to the 18th May down at DUB.

BTW Hammerhead, have you noticed that Aer Arran have a new livery, now with green engines and livery rather than blue.
