Go-ahead for air ambulance hangar
« on: May 17, 2007, 12:16:30 PM »
Plans to build a hangar for the Surrey Air Ambulance at Dunsfold Park have been approved by councillors.

Council officers had said the plans should be refused, saying the applicant had not justified the development and it would bring noise and disturbance.

But planning members gave the go-ahead at a meeting on Wednesday after the air ambulance service justified the location and change of use of land.

The service said it could cover all of Surrey and Sussex from the site.

A pledge has been made that all patients will be transferred to the nearest hospital within 10 minutes.
