1960s bus services to Sydenham

Interesting article in Interchange * this month about old Belfast bus turning points mentions Sydenham.

• Belfast Corporation buses apparently used the taxiways on the north side to reach the Shorts sheds with 'Harbour Airport' as the destination.
• [The RN maintenance unit on the south side was serviced by the '99 Sydenham' service which bimbled into the yard and again turned on a taxiway.

Probably not something they would be permitted to do these days...

Up until the time of the bomb that took out G-ROOM  staff from the paint sheds would drive their. own cars along the taxi way  at what is now Victoria stands and down the road under the 04 threshold. Many a time they would drive round
 the barier and a 360 or Viscount would have to stop for them.
