Leuchars
« on: August 30, 2008, 02:50:11 PM »
My dad lives in a small fishing village called CELLERDYKE, it is not far away from leuchars,
last time it was over on holiday, they were doing an exercise 1 small hawk would go out first,
then 10 Tornado's would follow 5 Min's later you can imagine the noise. we loved it.

No it's OK, but it is mainly a static display, although some planes do a quick flyover

This years airshow was a disaster, the weather was bad and no aircraft actually flew, the vulcan was there but refused to fly when asked to, the red arrows were there but only did the formation flying but no high stuff, my freind said he should have come over to prtrush as the planes actually fly, there was a record crowd of 40,000 people, but they were happy just to see them up close as it turned out to be a static display only.

The Typhoon did a display aswell - but you are right, the weather was terrible. Most of the big shows on the mainland were a washout this year.We couldn't have timed our show better  ;) 8) :D
