Weather for both days looks reasonable, dry both days (some sunny spells Saturday, overcast Sunday) with temps of around 15C but wind from North 12-15 mph, which if accurate is pretty good.

Ha! Wouldn't bet on it! I always seem to get soaked in Portrush!

Well I can`t speak for the rest on here, but I always bring the severe weather gear with me to Portrush,it`s a bonus if it`s dry,and the wind can get into places I didn`t know I had.

Think I will wait til Saturday to decide if I will head up on Sunday. Interesting line up this year which is helping me sway toward going for the first time this year

Parking is causing me the most debate.  Cant decide if I want to be coming in from Coleraine or Bushmills.  Will be heading back to Belfast to try and avoid the mass exodus at the end.

We'e discarded the idea of parking altogether and will be taking the train from Belfast.

Had thought about train but assumed it would be packed to the rafters

Two years ago I was going to take the train from Ballymena, got to the station to be told they were not letting anyone on. So beware.

I think parking is going to be a very big problem, even more so than normal-train or bus might well be a better plan,I think I will check out the buses.

Saturday is also an 'open day' for potential new students at the UU Coleraine (although trains are not stopping at University or Dhu Varren halts during the weekend, so looks like I will have to run my son & some of his friends up to it :( ), so may be a few more on train going to that as well.

Looks unlikely that I may get to the airshow this year :(

Due to other commitments I may be in the Eglinton area on Sat, looking at my maps (& google) there seems to be a couple of roads which may give a view of runway etc. Has anyone any experience of spotting/photos at Eglinton? (& any Ideas of timings for the display aircraft which are stopping there?), cheers.

Currently in Portrush doing a set up.

Good News.  If this weather holds there'll be no  wx scrubs.

Bad News.  I doubt Ramore is going to be a great vantage point, at least compared to previous years.  Light issues not withstanding, I'd look out towards Skerries maybe... Or risk the strand.

I see the Catalina floating around Eglinton too, how does it stay in the air

I believe ir relies on a cushion of pure noise.  If the engines stop, the noise ceases and it falls.

Are the Red Arrows' times BST? I'd like to head up to Aldergrove to see them arrive. Not going to Portrush.

According to the Air Waves website they are displaying at 16:30 which would appear to suggest they will arrive at 11:40am on Sunday according to the times above?

Unfortunately there is some major road in progress at the lodge road roundabout heading to portrush so if anyone is thinking of driving to the show please be aware that there might be a diversion heading towards  BALLYBOGEY direction the roadworks are to last for a few months. The road is down to 1 lane.

Yes,1140 should be about right, but I suggest you get there a bit earlier just in case;last time they came in 10 mins early-I would advise 1100 to give yourself plenty of time.

Thanks for that info-hopefully the roadworks will have been cleared for the weekend, but maybe I am banking on a bit of common sense. ;)
