Busy morning over Lurgan
« on: December 07, 2008, 03:14:07 PM »
It was a busy morning over Lurgan today and I only managed to snap one plane. Think this is a 747 and as you can tell by the angle it was directly over my house :) Also saw a lot of 3 engine aircraft

I'm nearly 100% certain thats a Virgin Atlantic A340-600 :D The wings are not swept back enough for a 747, and there are five flap fairings. Cool capture!

I used to study aircraft shapes and sizes a lot so I like to think I can identify most commercial aircraft :D The 3 engines aircraft were most likely freighters such as Fed Ex and UPS, although we do seem to get afew KLM MD11's. :)

Very nice. Many thanks for that. I can't believe I only took one photo the whole day. They were passing over at a rate of 5 to 10 per hour.

Yep it was busy over coleraine as well, just got back from B&Q today and was buzzed by a low flying puma head out towards ballymoney direction.

I got a few pictures myself including several Delta 767-400ER's over a short space of time. Also a KLM 747 in there also.
