I did see that, I'm assuming that it's wrong as the date I got came from one of the organisers.

On a side note, their are 2 other airshows on the 5th and 6th, with the Vulcan attending the Victory show. I'm unsure if the Vulcan will appear at Duxford, I think it may have last year. I have been thinking, the Vulcan To The Skies couldn't possibly charge a full airshow fee if they came to portrush, could they? They wouldn't be landing (unless they refuel at Aldergrove which would introduce landing and refuelling fees) and they'd only be doing a few short fly pasts. I'm still annoyed they Shunned NI last year. I would like to think that the Vulcan would come to Ulster at least once before it inevitably becomes unairworthy again

Portrush weren't able to pay the entire fee for the Vulcan last year after their 'partner' show pulled out at the last minute - they had allocated their budget to other acts. Not quite a case of the Vulcan shunning us. ;)
Given the amount of time spent rattling the begging bowl and threatening to halt the entire project unless 'one million pounds' is raised soon,i imagine the full fee would be charged at every show - regardless of landing etc.I doubt they'd even contemplate landing at Aldergrove (except in an emergency),in case a technical fault occurred and they couldn't get airborne again :-X

Anyway - i'd rather have half an hour of the Reds than two or three passes by the Vulcan ;)

Yea, I guess my wording was poor, I'm just disappointed I didn't see it last year. I've never heard or seen a Vulcan flying so my aim is to see it sometime this summer. I think on a one off occasion, I'd choose the Vulcan over the Red Arrows, despite how much I love the Arrows. I'd also love to see the 4 Team Guniot aircraft (unlikely) together this year.

Well they are displaying at the National Countrysports Fair, but how many I don't know.

I would like to see the vulcan but i won't build my hopes up, as for refuelling i think they could make a few airshows before they need fuel.
i think it will make luechars again.

Well Remembered. I had forgotten about the fair. Judging by the description they give of the display, looks like it's a two aircraft display :(

The five display looks awesome! I think I had heard they had done a 5 or 6 aircraft display once. Anyhow, I've been a long time fan of them ever since seeing them as a kid. Back then they were the Cadbury's Crunchie team I think. I just love the noise from the engines! Sounds like the WW2 Japanese Zero.

The four ship was great - we did well that year 8)

It's the one act that the other half really enjoys watching - apart from the Reds of course ;)

Team Guinot are currently looking for new sponsors as the "Guinot Deal" ends  this year.
They have 6 aircraft in total-5 are operational and one still has to be painted up.
They have done the 5-ship display at a few shows in England.

Regarding the Vulcan coming to Portrush-I personally am not bothered-I think the VTTS group are a very shoddy bunch and it is my belief that until someone else takes the project on,it will continue to be run in a very poor way.

Just to explain Exactly what happened with the Vulcan last year-the reason Southport (Portrush + Southport were co-funding it) pulled out because VTTS DOUBLED the appearance fee with only a few weeks to go,so Southport told them to go stick it (rightly so in my opinion).
VTTS then went to Portrush and again they had DOUBLED the appearance fee and Portrush told them to stick it.
At the last minute Southend got a new sponsor for the Vulcan to appear and negotiated a deal with a 25% increase on the fee instead of doubling it.

So if you want to see the Vulcan fly-you will have to go to the big shows ie Duxford,Leuchars,Waddington,Jersey, etc

Exactly my feelings-better to spend what money is available on aircraft that are going to do more than a few passes.

Plenty of great civilain operated aircraft that have not displayed in N.I before ie Hunters and Gnats etc at Delta Jets ;D

There are some old pages still listed.
Show site is www.niinternationalairshow.co.uk
The organisers have a very encouraging "promise" list and are waiting the nod to announce it.

Please, less fast jets :P Too hard to photo. I'm pleased the Dakota, Spitfire and Hurricane are due to appear. Lets hope they make it this year. Wonder if it will be a joint or seperate display from the BoB trio.
Looks like Portrush is going to have another great year. Lets hopes the weather will hold up once again. This is the one weekend of the year I am looking forward to, especially after last year!
