Going to buy a tent for the airshow this year, so we don't get stuck due to transport issues, but the only problem i may have is recharging my camcorder battery. hope the weather will be as good as last year.

OK - met with RN recently and they are assigning Merlin, Lynx, HMS Gannet SAR plus the biggie - RFA Largs Bay - huge support ship which will act as a platform for a Royal Marine Commando beach landing - fast RIBs landing on the beach and commandos abseiling from a Mk4 Sea King - hopefully with pyros.
The ship is about 1.5 times bigger than HSS and will be brought right into the bay. Should be good.

Brilliant news. Any trips being organised to the ship while it's here? Will it be present for both days?

Another question Tango - have you ever tried to get some of the local assets involved in the display; Chinook, Gazelle, Puma, Islander, Defender?

The ship will be there for about 4 days. Visits will be media only and maybe hard-working events staff(!) Will let you know if that changes.
As for local assets - not all assets are on the "display circuit" and not all pilots have Display Authority licences so line-ups are limited in that respect. We do try every available avenue each year.

BTW - I'm trying to post a hperlink - any idea whay it's not working.

I think this will be the end of the DVD titles.
The Directors Cut's :LOL :LOL :LOL
It's not at best quality due to the actual file size being to big.
I have added a poll to this blog.
so you can view the clips there.
please vote.
thank's STU36

A few more additions for Portrush - a couple of nice Folland Gnats (Saturday only) and the RM Commandos will now be using TWO green Sea Kings for the abseilers. So with the SaR there will be 3 Sea Kings for the weekend - quite a coup.
Thought we had the King Air again but definitely not now.

Fantastic news. Saw the Gnats down for the Bray airshow and thought 'wouldn't it be nice if they dispplayed up North' :) Will the two Sea Kings be based on RFA largs or will they be on static display? And i'm just being greedy - anything else in the pipeline?

I love the east cliff, especially when the tennis courts are used as a helicopter park :)

Black rocks or Ramore head are great spots for photo's, but if you want to get head on shots then the beach front where the old castle erin hotel was is pretty good.

No matter. Still looks like a very good line up. Is this the final line up, barring cancellations?

That's pretty much it though still waiting on two military jets (!) but they're such a long shot at the moment.
