Hi

Just joined the forum and will be making the trip from Dublin in the morning.  Can someone advise what the airshow comms frequency is and also what other frequencies (Scottish/Belfast/Derry?) are worth listening in to for show-related traffic?

Many thanks

Thanks Casper!

Does anyone know what the last display will be on Saturday? Seeing as the Red's are opening the show on Saturday it would be pretty pointless leaving 15 mins before they finish!

Regards,

Frank.

Sorry Frank, what I meant was that the Reds will be closing the show on Sunday and that's when I sneak away early

Hello to all,
Just joined today after coming across the site by accident at work, heading for the show tomorrow. I will be leaving at 8am even though I live in Antrim (approx 40mins). This gives me ample time to get parked (Behind Portrush British legion / Dunluce centre) Parked there last year and was home within the hour and this was staying right to the end of the show. Good luck to all for tomorrow, especially to the guys from south of the border, Hope you all have a safe journey.

I just got a copy of the A380 schedule for tomorrow via a mailing list and it looks like there will only be one approach at Portrush, before it flys back to Belfast.

Is there supposed to be a display or will there just be a single flypast?

Unfortunately I can't post the schedule that was sent via email as I'm using my phone to post this message and I have no copy and paste facility.

According to the A380 twitter website (http://twitter.com/A380flyvisit) there will be a flypast at Portrush @ 14.20 and according to the schedule I got via the Irish Spotters list there will be one approach, on my laptop now so I can copy & paste. ...

Portrush was the only location originally reported to have a mini display, now if the information you received is right, it seems all the other locations a getting a lot more than Portrush, such as an approach and visual circuit. BHD also seems to be getting a good chunk of action.

I'm hoping for a least 2 flypasts tomorrow at Portrush, greedy I know, however one flypast doesn't leave much room for error when taking photos.  :-\

Sunday seems to have 60% cloud cover reported which seems pretty good compared to the 100% cloud cover tomorrow!

Any how, good luck tomorrow guys, some good light at 2.30pm is all I want. Might bump into some of you there on Black Rocks.

Well, as I mentioned a few posts back - any rain is occuring this morning and it should largely clear for lunchtime. The sun is starting to peak out here at the moment.

I still think today will be the best of the two days weatherwise. We may get a few quite bright spells this afternoon. Persistent rain is expected tomorrow afternoon.

Wasn't to sure whether or not to post this in the Portrush thread or not, but here's a pic of the a380 at BHD. Dave was telling me the weather isn't too kind up north :(. We got a little luckier down here with quite sunny skies :). Looking forward to seeing more later!

Just had a quick word with Gerry Humphries (EI-HUM) at the fly-in in EIWT this afternoon. Said there were quite a few no-shows up there today. Better turn out tomorrow I hope !! - He put on a fine display in Weston !

Just back in form the show, was ok, cold as usual but bloddy cloud!!!!!!

Ruined some good shows so difficult to meter past it without sillouetting the planes, well will put some up when i get a chance.

Anyone I said hello to I was the one in the bright red cap standing near the edge of the black rocks.

Mike.

On my way home.
Spent the 1st part of the show by the beach at Barry's. Got to Ramore Head in time for the Blades.
Thought the Typhoon was awesome but can someone explain where the heck everyone came from lol. The Head was almost empty prior to the Typhoon.

The first thing we noticed when we got to the Head was they did seem closer.

Well guys, how did you all find it? I wasn't expecting anything good weather wise, so to catch the AN-2 in sun was a plus I guess.

I caught some nice helicopter shots, but everything else was alot tougher to catch. The A380 was cool to see, but from the Black Rocks, it was quite awkward to catch when rolling her wings.

All the jet fighters were quite far out and even at 400mm, they wern't filling the frame. A good few photgraphers around me, but I only recognised Paul unfortunatly.

All in all, I'm not sure if I would consider today a success or not. But I'm just grumpy after missing the A380 in sun at BHD  ;D
