Just noticed this on BBC website - LDY>DUB? Be interesting to see how popular/well used that is - but I suppose it's a 3hr / 150 mile drive on a quiet day, so if you can afford to fly it, why not?

Oh! That's a bit of a surprise.  Hadn't it been tried eleventy-five times before and never seemed viable?

City centre-to-centre in a helicopter might appeal to executives in a rush but would they be bothered with airports for such a short hop?

Yeah,it`s been tried many times and after some inital interest,it has become unsustainable,much like the BHD-DUB route.
Standard airport procedures of arriving approx 2 hrs prior to your flight etc have more or less rendered short routes like this not worth the hassle.
