It appears many of us appreciate contrail photography, as lets be honest, its the closest many of us can get to the larger and unusual aircraft. So post your contrail photos here

I'll throw a few out first;

World Airways DC-10

Herc caught passing over Dublin Airport, unsure of Altitude

KLM 747-400

Air Tahiti Nui A340-300, was happy to see this

Lufthansa 747-400

We seem to get a lot of Lufthansa/KLM/BA traffic overhead so a good variety of aircraft types.

Thats a 777-200ER for sure although likewise, I'm unsure of the operator

Given the blue tail, it is likely Continental as there are few 777 operators with blue tails operating around Europe

Nice catch, today we had some awesome clear weather for contrails.

Working in the garden today but didn't get a chance to take in as many fly overs as I would have liked, but here's a few.

Nice one, you got the shots pretty well exposed! I read recently that its best to under exposure the shots in order to get the correct exposure for the aircraft and contrail. First shot looks like a Lufthansa A330, second shot is a 767 but no idea about the airline, and you no doubt know the third

I think that's the case for most photos. As far as I know it's easier to fix an underexposed photo than an overexposed one (if shooting in RAW).

That's true although given the distance, it's harder to get the aircraft correctly exposed for contrail shots. I had always used normal settings but in the future I think I will be stopping down.

Looking at other pictures I think you're correct. They operate 3 of them, along with 90 pilots

Looks like you saw a good few contrails today strings

Two I caught today whilst burning myself in the sun in the back garden.

Air France A330-200

Air Canada 767-300

Air Canada starts operating to Dublin around the 18th of June so i can't wait to head down there and catch it sometime, even if it is only with the 767's. Air Transpat also operate the A310 into Dublin currently.

Had a lot of 4 engined jobs flying over but didn't catch any on camera. Particularly regret not catching a lufthansa A340

Ahh the Lufthansa A340's are great to look at

Some more from today following another burning session in the back garden;

BA 747-400 with a 5th trail.

The effects a minute after the BA 747 had flown past. The vortices shed from the wing effect the contrail in a fascinating way.

And two Three-holers flew over which made a nice change!

I was in the back garden with the dog and i saw a plane i'm not sure but i think it had a red tail and red engines if so what aircraft operator was it.

How many engine did it have? Porbably Virgin Atlantic as Casper pointed out.

Casper, first one is a Lufthansa A340-600 which evaded you yestersday.

The second one is a 777-200, as it has 3 flap fairings on the trailing edge of the wing, I believe the 767 has 4 flap fairings. That said I've no idea which airline

I'm truely baffled as to what that 777 is casper. Got one contrail from today. A GSM 738, which got away from me a bit as a ran for the camara

Was lot`s of good contrails yesterday-I got shots of the KLM MD11,the BA 747 and a few others.Can`t post them up yet-STILL NO INTERNET Grrrrr!!!!!

Just a few shots from today. Was very nice to see the TOM/FCA 757W heading to GLA from Las Palmas

. Second one is a UPS B763 and i think the third is an AA 777, not sure though.
