Website T-shirts/tops
« on: May 27, 2009, 09:17:14 PM »
Some talk of website T-shirts and tops from myself and String and of course we have been jumping the gun a bit. What do you think Casper?

Anybody whom has seen the idea's think they look good but then again hooded top's will not be everyone's cup of tea, especially for those elderly amoungst us  ;D

The only question continuously raised by people unfamilar with the website; Who is Dale? The majority of folk don't realise that the website is a community forum for aviation fans within Northern Ireland and my only concern is when people see DalesPlanes on a T-shirt, they will think it's somebodys own website containing their own collection of photos.

I love the idea but I'm just not sure. T-shirts are expensive. As said it was something I was thinking about for myself but if others were interested I'd certainly look in to it.

To be honest this is something I hadn't thought about but if it helped the site improve I'd certainly be up for it. What do others think? A quick search shows that niaviation.co.uk is available. Would this be a better address for the site?

The idea of promoting the website on T-shirts is great although as mentioned they can be expensive. Perhaps a logo or the website address can be printed cheaply on to iron-on stickers. I'm going to order one of those tops I designed and then just wear it anytime I'm doing something aviation related.

As for the site name change, personally the change would be a good idea, just so that others know what the site is about in the name, but you have put a lot of effort into DalesPlanes so I can understand it if you'd rather not change.

What do others think?

By the way, NIaviation.co.uk sounds good. Would it cost much to change the name?

I wouldn't order one just yet in case the name is changed  :LOL

The total cost would work out around £120 per year.

Cost is nothing, around £10 a month - I'd spend that on sweets :)

He is my son but I wouldn't use that as an excuse not to change :)

Yea, I had never really taken into consideration the costs of running this place. I would be more than happy to contribute some money towards this place and the new web address if it goes ahead since I use this place a lot, although as I'm a student, the amount would be smallish.

I had also thought about the sentimental value of Dalesplanes to Casper so would understand if he would rather keep dalesplanes.co.uk, either way I will contribute some money towards the place.

Although NIaviation.co.uk does sounds quite good and might just attract more people  :)
