some great stuff over the 13th & 14th june as riverfest returns with guest's from all over the world doing water skill e.g. Barefoot water skiing.

Just as i was uploading pic's we just had a massive THUNDER STORM. glad i made it home in time.

some great pics there String.... looks like you had good weather for it too. 8)    what shutter speed were you using? as some of the pic's seem to be slightly blurry.... hard to get good action shots without getting camera shake so the higher the shutter speed the better....

To be honest i'm not sure i was just sort off experimenting with shutter speed but i'm still trying to understand how or what shutter speed is. :LOL :LOL :LOL
i was using the 18-70mm lens this time.

As Hammerhead has said some are blurry but overall you seem to have an eye for capturing the action.

Glad i'm in the house and didn't go to the riverfest today as we have another THUNDER STORM and it looks like it's a bad one. here is a wee vid of it.

Still a wee bit out of focus/blurred - what shutter speed were you using? Have you cropped this in from the original image?

I was using the action feature on the camera so the shutter speed was 800 i think and i did crop from original pic.

it looks like the focus was out rather than the shutter speed as the water drops are not streaky so id say its just slightly out of focus.... not that I'm as good as Casper or Dave when it comes to taking pics

It was supposed to be auto focus so i will have to figure out the buttons to change the auto focus ranges from A C S so i will get used to it yet.
i found these 2 pic that seem ok.

Just looking at the specs of the camera and these are the auto focus options

• Single-shot AF
• Direct Manual Focus
• Continuous AF
• Automatic AF
• Manual focus

For portraits, landscapes etc use the Single-shot, for anything that moves try the Continuous
