Two hours at EIDW
« on: July 29, 2009, 10:44:10 PM »
Spent a short while at EIDW today... then had to leave just as the started using runway 34 which is a pity as you can get some great head on shots form the approaching aircraft....    like the first shot here....

Those are cracking shots Don! The head on shot of the Gulfstream is cool, I've never seen anything from that angle in Dublin. Also the Globespan taking off is a nice shot, was that from further down the runway from 'Dave's perch'?  ;D

thanks for the kind comments guys... :-[     Heres a couple more from ''the perch''...                                                                                               When the tractors arrived it ruined the view so i move to the rwy10 end to get the globespan departure.....

Then they changed to rwy34 which cuts across the rwy28 threshold..... soyou know where the car park is Dave..the aircraft cross the road about 50yds before the carpark and it's possible to get some nice head on shots as there are no trees in the way... i'll show you on the 6th so if it ever happens when your there you will know where to go....heres a couple of the kind of shots that are possible ....

Great shots  ;D You must've been there in the evening to catch the Iberia flight? 5.25pm from memory  :P

Very early weather forecasts are for clear sky next Thursday morning  8)

That Iberia flight must have been early then as i was only there from about 1.30 to 3.50.....  and the weather is looking good for rwy28 to be in use too.... wind from S/W.....http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/dayforecast.asp?day=7&zipcode=Dublin   ;D

I'd actually be happier with runway 10 in use as the view down there is fantatsic, and theres libarely any obstructions between you and the aircraft. That being said, runway 28 is also a great spot, as long as you can catch the aircraft between the ariels and poles etc.  ;D Might get lucky and see the Ryanair Dreamliner aircraft which I'm always harping on about (excuses the pun!)
