UPS fleet
« on: August 14, 2009, 03:52:17 PM »
I was watching a show the other night, 'How do they do it' and it focused on how parcels can be sent across the Atlantic in less than 24 hours.During the show they mentioned that the UPS fleet numbered 280 (at the time of the show)  and it was the 8th largest fleet in the world. I'd never imagined that a cargo fleet could rank so high, I always thought that it would be passenger carrying fleets.

It is suprising-I knew UPS and Fedex have large fleets but didn`t realise it was so high.

Air freight does tend to get forgotton about especially in Northern Ireland, but the operation at Aldergrove is fairly extensive.
Operators include DHL,TNT,UPS,Royal Mail (handled by various operators-Jet2(Channex),Titan and various freight charters),Air Atlantique.
