Hi all,

I submitted the attached photo to JetPhotos but it was rejected on the grounds that it was blurry and I'm having difficulty with their reasoning (to put it mildly)  >:(

Is it worth appealing?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I can't see any bluriness, although it might be a tiny bit soft. It could maybe use an extra kick of sharpening such as 300,0.2,0 USM, if that makes sense using photoshop. Although sharpness can be sometimes be subjective so any other opinions?

I personally wouldn't appeal it as the head screeners will likely reject it for being unlevel. It could use a rotation of 1.5 degrees clockwise, as it currently appears thats the building behind (specifically the chimneys) are leaning to the left.

Lastly you may have to crop a bit closer on the left hand side, maybe crop up to the blade of the helicopter in the background.

I reckon if you make those adjustments, you should get the shot onto the database  ;)

It's a nice shot so definately worth trying.

Hi Dec,
great photo and if you follow Dave's advice you should get it accepted. Stick at it even if you get rejected. If a photo is rejected fix it given the rejection reason and when you re-upload it put a note in the screeners box to the effect -

Previously rejected for .... Have fixed and re-uploaded.

When I first uploaded to JP I'm sure I had a 75% rejection rate but of my last 10 uploads only 1 was rejected so I've been improving.

Got word today from JetPhotos that they have accepted the revised pic.  8)
