Hi, new member. I remember that airshow well. I was one of the passengers on G-BARB along with my Uncle that day. I was 9 years old. We were offered to stay on the airside for a while and get refreshments by the control tower after the incident. However my Uncle wanted to get me back to the crowd side as my parents were there and had witnessed what happened. My dad always said he was glad the aircraft stayed on the tarmac and didn't veer onto the grass. He was concerned the nose might dig in. Really fascinating to see the picture of it after all these years, thank you.
Ps I think there were television cameras that year and we often wondered if they had captured any of it. Highly unlikely I know as they were there for the displays obviously. But we wondered all the same.
