Yeah, the Mig will be back apparently, just not announced yet.

Great to hear!

Would be good if the Vampires came too

Air Waves Portrush
"Unfortunately the RAF are not offering a GR4 display this year. We did request a flypast by any RAF asset likely to be in the area but were not allocated anything. Although RAF flypasts are free getting additional display items also means we go into the next CAA fee bracket, at present that would add approx. £1500 to the costs."

"The Draken and Viggen heritage flight would be great too!!! 😁😁😁
Air Waves Portrush
"Sadly we don't have enough money in the flying display budget for that."

This was posted a few days ago so looks like Portrush won't be adding anything extra....2 kicks in one day :(

So Portrush being the premier RAF 100 event and the RAF cannot send 1 single asset...joke!

Should change Air Waves Portrush to Negative Waves

The comment was about adding a FLYPAST to the current list of RAF DISPLAY ITEMS at Portrush

I'm wondering why the official website for this event hasn't yet been updated with the list of aircraft attending? It's only just over a month away! I'm hoping that it's because the organizers are still consulting with aircraft operators in an effort to attract their attendance, so far I have heard very little about the aircraft coming but it appears that the RAF have little to offer us,🤔

Rumour that there is no Silver Wings enclosure this year, which would tally with the big empty space on that page of the website.

Someone is notable by their absence from the team this year.

Still more to be announced. This is a post from last week. I believe the Norwegian's are still to be announced, quite possibly the  Mig 15 but not 100% sure on that one.

Visitors to Air Waves Portrush can also look forward to a debut performance from the vintage Swiss Classic Formation featuring the Beech 18 and DC-3 aircraft alongside appearances from the Global Stars aerobatic team, the Catalina sea plane, the Sea Fury and the Calidus Autogyro with more announcements still to come.

I've heard that too, which would make it seem like fact

We have teamed up with our fabulous friends at Translink to offer a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children or 1 adult & 3 children) the opportunity to win their train or bus travel and entry to Lancaster Lodge hospitality marquee on Sunday 2nd September. The Lancaster Lodge experience includes souvenir programme, hot and cold buffet, private viewing area and treats for the children.

I'm not a big fan of the wildcat. Horrible looking front end with that big dome camera.

Looks like I will go up for the Saturday. Swiss Classic Flight, Sea Fury, Huey & Loach, Catalina & BBMF the main draws for me.

Now, if I thought there was even the remotest possibility they'd do a Sea Fury/Mig 15 dogfight double formation...

Pffft.  I had a Sea Fury and Quiche formation at RIAT.

Given the jaunty angle it seems that it took effect quite rapidly.

If 'Logistical' issues allow for it, there should be a Puma HC1 on static from the UAS.

Confirmed that there will NOT be a Silver Wings enclosure this year, only the Lancaster Lodge 'corporate' enclosure where one can network with stakeholders...

And unfortunately it's location makes it totally unattractive if you want to see the airshow!

will have to harass any of the organisers I meet on the ground there, a big loss to the event

How popular was Silver Wings? did it sell out each year?

TTF might know numbers but it always seemed fairly well booked every year, not many table-places free at lunchtime.

It's a real shame as I probably won't do the airshow without it.

The Lancaster Lodge isn't much more expensive per head but it's in a rubbish location.

Last year was my first visit to the enclosure and have to admit I did enjoy it. Prime spot, table and chairs provided, lunch, private toilets.

Was disappointed it wasn't returning this year as I probably would have gone again.
