Dash 8 programme sold by Bombardier

IP and tooling for all variants has been sold to Longview Aviation, the parent company of Viking which maintains the Twotter in production:

Aircraft are too risky for them now.
The Dash is coming to the end of it development life. You can't make it bigger with out stepping on the toes of the A220 and can't make it smaller because it's been done and there is no demand for it.
Ironically what w need now is a next gen SD360. Because you will never see a Dash on it's 6th owner hopping islands or cargo runs.

Quite surprised we haven't seen something around that size brought forward yet to replace the ageing and specialist SF34.

Those SF34 jigs are still sitting in a warehouse.  Would it be viable to buy them out, I wonder.

ironically of course the Dash 8 started in the same segment as a tough rough-field commuter before growing into a delicate snowflake.
