Newtownards Spitfire
« on: November 22, 2020, 08:23:11 PM »
Following the announcement that the Ulster Flying Club are looking at Spitfire flights next summer I got in a discussion with a family member who is 'almost sure' that at one time there was a Spitfire stored in one of the Newtownards hangars.

Any truth to this one?

Not that I am aware of, certainly visiting Spitfire`s for airshow`s and other events have overnighted in the hangers before; perhaps your family member saw this and assumed the aircraft was based there ?

Any offers?

Thanks, my first thought was they had seen it shortly before or after an airshow there. They are quite probably wrong, but thought I would ask anyway as it started to play on my mind.
