I know it says more information will be released closer to the time, but, does anyone have any thoughts on where this event might be held?

It'd need to be somewhere, where the public can walk around and see the aircraft, or will it just be some fly pasts etc?

I would keep an eye out for catering tenders for outdoor events .. both north down and Fermanagh district council...

Id say they would be doing a tour round the country possibly flying over old RAF wartime sites eg Ballyhalbert seeing 303 sqn where based there during the war. They will probably land at the likes of ards and eglinton etc for the chance of the public getting up close for a few snaps.

Is the Spitfire a 2 seater? Ards did say a while back they were looking at bringing a Spitfire over for passenger flights this summer. Could this be tied into it?

I think this event has been cancelled until 2022

My normal attitude to sharing "inside" info on movements is that so long as it doesn't compromise safety of flight, the law or your sources... Spread the wealth. But, right now (and quite possibly next month) anything that attracts a crowd, or is seen as likely to attract a crowd, is going to get some people's hackles up, including some people who work at the clown show on the hill.

So maybe be discrete about anything that's not put in the public domain by the organisers? Not saying don't share, but maybe just don't share everywhere?

Opinions will doubtless vary.

I agree. Perhaps share it on the military side of things? At least then only members can view?

There has been 2 press articles about the even I have read and it's all over the local aviation Facebook sites so I would guess it's being promoted by someone

" So we spent this sunny morning at the Ulster Flying Club in Newtownards discussing details of the "Polish Wings Over NI" event. It won't be a big surprise for many of you to discover that the two birds of the Polish Heritage Flight will be operating from Newtownards Airfield when visiting Northern Ireland in August.

I shared on Newcastle Festival of Flight and NI and Ireland airshows, however, I only shared what was publicly posted by the organisers on their own FB page. I won't be posting any details unless it is officially in the public via organisers or a press release.

I've been using this policy for both FB Pages for a good few years now, and though it does annoy some with comments like "you knew and didn't tell us" I find its the easiest way to keep myself right in case there is unplanned, and hence unannounced changes on things like routes etc.

The organisers themselves did post on FB, So I assume that is why it is already widely known and how it is being promoted.

I see they posted on Monday that they have just finished but final arrangements in place with the polish heritage flight and and update will be due at the end of this week with a limited number of tickets for it.

Battle of Britain veteran, Hawker Hurricane P3717 which flew for 315 & 317 Polish Squadrons will now be coming to NI in place of Hawker Hurricane G-HURI. Spitfire BM597 will be the Spitfire. The UAS will also be bringing their replica Spitfire to Ards.

Flying schedule released on Wednesday according to the event FB.

What's the cognoscenti's view on locations for photography?
I'm half tempted to stay at home on Saturday and shoot them through the chimneys of E. Belfast. But there's still Friday and later on Saturday afternoon!

I was going to take a trip to Ards on Friday evening, weather depending, for their arrival. On Saturday I will most likely be near the International anyway, so will probably see them arrive at least.

I'd like to think they have contingency to bring them in tomorrow morning, but that could affect their tour.
