That`s very harsh and unfair..
Don`t forget these aircraft are 70 years old, they have to fly by VFR rules, and the weather was far from ideal today. The pilot has to go by what ATC tell him, and he has to consider what is safe.
It`s all very well for Facebook non-pilot experts to stand on the ground and criticize. There has been a great deal of time and effort put in to try and get this event together, sadly the weather
has not played ball, but that is outside everyone`s control.
A flypast is exactly that, a flypast, it`s not a 10 minute display, and as I already mentioned safety, especially in less than ideal weather conditions is the pilot`s first concern.
People may well have been disappointed by what they saw, but that does not mean it was a cop out. That`s what`s wrong with so much of Joe Public these days,
They don`t know, nor care how much work is involved in putting something like this together, and just jump straight onto social media to moan and complain.
It must be very disappointing for those involved to read what the moaners say on social media, Polish Wings over NI didn`t have to do this, and it did not cost those watching anything.
Personally I feel that all those involved in organising this tribute to the Polish RAF Squadrons should be applauded for their valiant and noble work.
Ok it did not pan out as an ideal situation, but they did their very best, and they should be thanked for remembering the brave Polish Airmen who served in WWII.
