After nearly 2 years I finally got to an Airshow again. I spent the weekend at Duxford for their summer Airshow. A pretty mixed bag of displays ranging from Tiger 9 to the Red Arrows and everything in between. What made the show great was some of the unique formations. A B17 flying with 2 P51s & a P47 as well as the Catalina flying with a Wildcat. 3 Mark 1 Spitfires and another 2 Ship of Spitfires which included the 'NHS Spitfire.
Weather was all over the place. Yellow weather warnings for both days with thunder, lightning and heavy rain however the rain held off until the Red Arrows departed on the Sunday. It was almost like Duxford had a dome around it as everywhere else in the area had rain. There was even bangs of thunder and some lightning in the distance during the Red Arrows display on Sunday. The changing weather over the weekend made photos very hard to take as one moment they would be in bright blue sky and the next pass was in grey cloud.
Seeing the Typhoon in her new colours was great though. Still struggling with prop blur sadly. Tickets booked for Septembers show so hopefully a 2nd show in 2021
