Bray is returning in 2022 but with a new format. Saturday will see ground activities and the airshow itself will only be one day on Sunday 2th July.

Line-up has been revealed.

It's a good line up, but nothing really to take my interest. I've seen most of the displays countless times before, some I will see many times this year. Only the Cap 232 and the Stearman displays I have never seen before.

BBMF are fantastic, the Lancaster is my favourite aircraft, but I will have seen it 5 times this year by the time Bray comes around, same with the Reds. RJF I will see at RIAT and the Catalina and P51  will no doubt be flying at the 2 Duxford shows I am going to.

I was considering going down for it, but I don't think I will unless some special formations or some more unique displays are announced.

I wouldn`t pay half that, but then I`m just miserable  .
Nothing there that screams " must see ".

They've also announced that you need to book your parking, for the official airshow carparks, in advance.
I can see a lot of people turning up on the day and not having booked.

Interesting to note, a very small, unseen update. There now will be flying on the Saturday via an official 'practice day'

Update as of June 7th 2022: There is an official practice day on Saturday, July 23rd 2022 ahead of the main #BrayAirDisplay on Sunday, July 24th 2022 with some aircraft activity throughout the day.

Seems to be a common thing with airshows social media here these days. Very little focus on the actual aircraft :/

Red Arrows MAY need to pull out of Bray.  All non essentail flying of Hawk T1s (Reds) and Typhoons have been stopped with immidiate effect due to ejector seat faults.

We have been notified of a technical issue which may affect the safe operation of our ejector seats in Typhoon and

 aircraft. We have paused non-essential flying as a temporary safety precaution until the situation is better understood.

I see the Hurricane PZ865 has returned to RAF Coningsby from Baldonnel , it`s about to land shortly. Maybe nothing, just thought it was odd.

Interesting.

It took part in a photoshoot/formation flypast this afternoon. I wonder if it was tasked to Dublin for that, returning to UK for other commitments and returning for the show on Sunday?

Anyway, Red Arrows have now been given the all clear and will be at Bray.

I had actually changed my mind and decided to go down for the day on the train, only for Covid to finally catch up with me lol.

The Hurricane was at Baldonnal for one very important reason, to allow 103 yr old Gp Cpt John "Paddy" Hemmingway, the last surviving Battle of Britain pilot one last chance to get close to what he called "his office" a Hurricane . AM Sean Reynolds, Air Officer NI along with the RAF Deputy Commander Ops were both there.

Yeah, I saw that on the news, it was a lovely gesture. The Hurricane returned to Coningsby as it had some flypast`s to carry out.
The weather forecast for later this afternoon down there is not great, not as bad as up north, but heavy rain is to move in from SW

Yikes.. Glad I didn't go. Looks like up to 11 displays cancelled. Looks like weather was a major factor. Not the first, and won't be the last show affected by weather. Nothing can be done about thay.

No Viggen (Don't even think it made the journey to Ireland and never shown on their schedule or acknowledged as going to being there on FB)

Dart line closed due to tresspassers on the track. People getting off trains by forcing doors open and walking the track to Bray.

Looking at Twitter/FB the orginisers are coming under some serious fire. The cancellations are disappointing but they can't do anything regarding weather, no matter how many angry tweets are sent to them. However, communication seems to be a massive issue too, Viggen cancelled on Friday it seems but nothing was ever said about it, so people were attending today still expecting to see it. Same with the Italian jet just disappearing from the listings.

I am sure that whatever did fly, put on a great display.  But once again communication and  even the promotion for the show, didn't seem focus on the actual aircraft.

I would agree with what you are saying, the situation with the Viggen was strange to say the least, but the main thing is if the weather gods decide not to play ball, then there`s very little that can be done.
The bad weather for Sunday was forecast well in advance, at least mid-week if I recall, the irony is Sat`s weather was much better, but it was billed as a practise day.
Any outdoor event is at the mercy of the weather, sadly some sections of Joe Public don`t read, or choose to ignore the small print. There does seem to have been an increase in bad weather during our summer months, and several airshows have suffered because of it, it does seem to be more common.
