Joint Warrior 2010 -101
« on: March 26, 2010, 12:25:23 AM »
Large NATO exercise Joint Warrior prt 101 is due 12/4/2010 to 23/4/2010. 8)

Although the exercise is mainly around Lossiemouth/Kinloss and West and East coast of Scotland,it`s not impossible that some participants might visit Aldergrove.

So might be worth keeping eyes and ears tuned just a little more than normal :D

That looks like one of the new Lynx Mk8's going by the electronic gear mounted on the nose, includes a passive ID sensor.

The ship looks like one of Scottish Fisheries Protection vessels judging by the stripe on her bow.

The ship looks like one of Scottish Fisheries Protection vessels judging by the stripe on her bow.

Able to confirm that this is the FPV Norna which is a Sulisker-class vessel from the Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency (FPA). She's unarmed and is probably there to make sure no fishing vessels stray into the exercise area.

You are right about the speed Angry :o I was walking back to the car with the camera packed into the bag after an hour of shooting Easyjets yesterday evening when suddenly the Lynx flew in, managed to get the camera out just in time to catch it going past...shutter speed a bit low though :(

Was out in the back garden this evening and was pleased to see it coming in again :) beginning to miss the Easyjets already  :)
