Myself and the girlfriend took a short trip to Frankfurt in the middle of May, previously intended for April however the airspace closures meant the trip had to be postphoned to May.
We stayed at the relatively cheap Intercity Hotel, only a 5 minute walk from the main spotting location at Frankfurt. The first day of our trip was lucky enough to coincide with the delivery of Lufthansa's very first A380. However due to travelling the whole night before hand, we opted to have a *quick* nap before heading to the spotting location to catch the A380 arrive at 4pm. Unfortunately we slept through the alarm and woke up two hours late, missing the delivery flight.
Anyway, over the following few days, aside from touring about Frankfurt city itself, we did a day's spotting at the airport itself as well as a whole day visiting the two Technik Museums which are an hour south of the airport.
Firstly the two museums... one word... Stunning! Lufthansa 747, on which you could walk out on to the wing! The Russian Buran Space Shuttle, A Concorde! A Tupolev Tu-144 (Russian Concordski) and about 100 quite large and interesting aircraft including a tonne of Russian aircraft, all of which you could get into and walk up and down. Trying to walk up the aisle of the two Concorde's was near impossible due to the steep angle they are mounted at. I havn't edited many photos from the museums yet, there will be more to follow.
A selection of photos from Frankfurt Airport itself;

Yes, a JU-52 in the background

One of the highlights of the trip, my first Shorts 360!

This airline is rumored to be flying into BHD on Saturdays starting the 26th June.

About 60 - 80 people were spotting from the dedicated area beside the motorway.

Niki Lauda's airline,

Operating on behalf of British Airways,

Soon Singapore Airlines will be getting rid of their 747's, only 7x 747's remaining in their fleet.
Only a small handful of photos but you get the idea
