I don't belieeeeve it. Went out and it was directly overhead but in the one little sliver of cloud around. No trail today by the way.

Hi Steve,

The last bunch of pics wouldn't happen to be around lunchtime today by any chance? If so I think I saw the at least the last couple of items there - I noted a B747 British Airways followed behind by a B767 United over both going Eastbound over Belfast at 12:30

Cheers

Good man Casper! Glad to see you have got the camera to the sky again-thick fog here(near BFS) all day so haven`t seen a thing!

2nd shot looks like a Pakistan A330.
3rd is an A340 but can`t see any markings.

Maybe Dave can help out with this?

Sure thing,

2) is PIA 777-200LR (registered AP-BGZ, they only have two LR's... one in new livery one in the old livery)[Yes, I'm a contrail geek :D ]
3) is a Lufty A340-300, grey belly and I think there blue and yellow on the tail.

Nice catches.

Thanks guys. I found a great wee iPhone app called Plane Finder (£2.99) and it is nearly realtime. Well worth looking in to.

Angry, were those taken with your 500mm lens?

The first pic of the Virgin 747 is very sharp considering how high up it would have been.  :)

Yes they were,it`s the only lens I have-must look for a 18-55mm for ordinary shots.

I highly recommend Sigma lenses as they are excellent quality and great value.
