There's a Tucano flying around at the moment -passed 4 times in the last hour.

I thought i heard a strange aircraft this morning i couldn't see it because of the clouds. but it did sound great though.

The Tucano passed near Dromore, Co. Tyrone around 12.30 on a SE heading, going flat out at about 300 knots I would estimate and flying at an altitude of approximately 200 - 300 feet. It was in the usual black colour scheme. If it had been slightly closer to me I could have read the registration no. Didn't have binoculars with me at the time. Anyone else see it? It would have had to change course a few minutes later to avoid entering the Republic's airspace.

Could swear I just heard it flying over Lurgan not 5 minutes ago. Sounds like someone's out for a bit of a joyride

Its been going directly over my head at Kilcranny today, things gives you such little time to get the camera on and ready !!!

Tucano "pair" over Lurgan/Craigavon junctions of the M1 just before 3pm.
Looked as though they came from Lough Neagh swinging down over the M1 and turned NW.
Suspect they are doing a recce for the show??

The two-ship did a low fly past at St Angelo approx 1400 hrs - great to watch

I heard one on the radio around 1100 hrs also but did not get a chance to see it.Could we be going to see some fixed wing flying training here after all

PS Are the display Tucanos painted in the Spitfire schemes for 2010?

Just flew home from BHX at 6pm. 4 Tucanos on the mil apron at Aldergrove. Could be a repeat performance 2moro.

From a fellow aviation site they were ZF339 ZF406 ZF407and ZF485.

I think I will bring my camera into work tomorrow and maybe catch them if they are about again.

Noticed that the site also gives details of all upcoming exercises inc. op areas, so something to keep tabs on.

Very surprised by this. When it was an RAF station they always cited 'Security Reasons' for not posting that type of information.

Also I've mentioned this elsewhere on the site that a mate of mine is big in to hill walking and he told me that it wouldn't be the first time he has seen fast jets flying through the Mournes. He hasn't seen any for a few years now but maybe that's about to change

This is an old list so I don't know if any of the frequencies are still relevent.

Interesting quote from Station CDR on JHC Aldergrove's front page: "Fast Jets will occasionally base from Aldergrove and conduct limited low flying training in the area as well as in support of local events and air shows".

The LFA Northern Ireland is in covers almost all of the country except areas around airfields,prisions,and large towns etc.

LFA info has to be released as part of the Freedom of Information Act although exact times and types being used to not have to be declared.

Normal terms are Heli`s,fixed wing or jet and that is all that is normally issued.

listened and looked all day but didn't see anything I did howerever hear a gentleman from the Sperrins talking on the 2m Amateur band who had indeed seen them yesterday flying close to his home at very very low level, so low infact that he thought the Spitfire shaped aircraft were going to crash at 3-400 MPH. He was so concerned that he rang St Angelo to report the incident. He said he had never seen anything like it
