Yep I should be there :)

Lucky you.

Was seriously considering going this year after the success of last years trip. Unfortunately I'm already committed to a project at home so no funds available  :(

However I can vow here and now that I will be going to RIAT 2012  :)

I would be interested in going but I would like to get some idea of the cost involved-maybe previous attendees could give us that haven`t been an idea?

Seems to me that it would cost around £400 for flights accom and tickets etc-does that sound about right?

I think the arrivals days would well worth a look.

I think the arrivals days would well worth a look.

I went for three days last year (Friday - Sunday), got a Park-and-View ticket for the Friday and General Admission tickets for Sat and Sun. I didn't get a Mach package. Total ticket price was about £95 I think going by current prices.
Flight over was £60 (BHD-LHR with BMI).
Accom was approx £120 (stayed in Cheltenham @ Holiday Inn).
All in about £275-£300.

While the Mach package looks good I had no complaints sitting with the 'ordinary' punters  :)
The "main" benefit I see with the Mach package is an elevated viewing position.

The arrivals day was well worth the look. One thing they had last year which I don't see on the ticket list for this year [yet] is the bus tour round the 'operational' side of the airfield.

I did, however at the time I was actually in England for over a week (went to Farnborough the following weekend).

I dug out the pricing list I'd put together for last years trip and found that the tickets for Fairford last year were £32 (general admission) compared to £39 this year.

Sign of the times?
