Glad you all enjoyed yourselves;I was going to head down, but the weather looked a bit dodgey,so I didn`t go.
It would be nice to see the collection in it`s new home.
Noticed this Heli on Fri night going into BFS, G-PDGT AS355;wonder did it go to the UAS event?
Was late evening when I took this so it`s not best quality. :-[

Afraid not Angry. G-LARR, which Casper posted a pic of earlier, was the only AS350 series helicopter that attended.

Thanks Paul. Sometimes I think I need all the practice I can get :)

Casper, I think you should have pointed out that this guy is attached to a wire and hasn't fallen out of the aircraft  ;D

The UAS only exists because it has a dedicated group of people who turn up every Saturday rain or shine and muck in to get things done.  The change in the hanger over the last 3 years has been amazing, within the last few months nearly 5 rooms have been completely restored and opened as new display space.

Hi,

Just a quick ping to point-out that "the UAS" actually encompasses a wider society and set of activities than just  the physical collection at Long Kesh.  The UAS also long predates any thoughts of preserving and restoring locally-associated artifacts.

In fact I'd say that the majority of UAS members aren't involved with the collection, either because it's not their primary interest for being in the society or because it's in the middle of a bog an hour's walk outside Lisburn.

For me, it's the latter reason and giving three days notice in UAM doesn't help.
