Aldergrove - 06-07-11
« on: July 06, 2011, 08:18:22 PM »
Spent nearly two hours at Aldergrove this morning and only saw 4 aircraft (landing) - very slow morning :(

This Easyjet looked gorgeous illuminated by a ray of light that broke through the dark clouds.

I'm sure the crew of this were pretty miffed. They were all lined up for landing and weren't that far from the airfield when they were told to go around as there was a Jet2 aircraft sitting on the runway.

Why is the approach of small aircraft like this always higher than the jets? :(

Thanks TCX. The only reason I was there was because I had to bring my son up to Dundrod and then pick him up an hour or two later. No point in going home to have to drive back up. He text me around 12:15 to say he was ready so I left :(

Hi Casper,
I was told by a PPL student that all smaller planes are told to "land long" so that they can exit the Runway quicker therefore they are usually higher. Hope this makes sense.
Great photo of the Easyjet.
