Very Nice String-Try underxposing your contrail shots a bit say 1-2 stops;and you will find detail comes out better.Also make sure your have the image stabiliser on,and use around 1/640th to 1/800th shutter speed to increase the sharpness.Hopefully you will find this useful.
I noticed two high flyers this morning at BFS coming from NW direction that would have possible to photograph with the moon in the backround.
Sadly I was going to work,and too busy scrapping ice of my windscreen to get my camera.
